Also called In-Process Inspections, DUPRO inspections are used during the production to identify defects at an early stage and establish compliance with the product specifications.

What is During Production Inspection Services?

During Production Inspection Services, commonly referred to as DUPRO in industrial environment is the quality control inspection performed while the production is still in process at a stage wherein, the production steps are said to be either 10-15% towards completion. In some goods, the DUPRO is said to be initiated only when the product has been materialised for a share of 20%.

DUPRO is known as Quality Control Inspection and is strictly performed so as to ensure high-quality of products and also the on-time delivery of products. In-process inspection is known to cover below enlisted items of the production process.

  • Packaging & Labelling
  • Visual Inspection
  • Physical Requirements & Dimensions
  • Functional Testing
  • Special Tests Specific to Your Product
  • Barcode Verification
  • Drop Testing
  • Other Checks, as Necessary

The DUPRO inspection is essential to ensure that the factory is producing the goods according to the original conduct as agreed by both parties. It is necessary to perform DUPRO just when the production has started off to continue production in the right track. The purpose of conducting a DUPRO inspection is done in order to ensure that the products and the process of production is consistently maintaining the compliance and regulations.

DUPRO inspection process abides by the ISO 2859-1, which is technically known as the “ISO 2859-1: Sampling procedures for inspection by attributes — Part 1: Sampling schemes indexed by acceptance quality limit (AQL) for lot-by-lot inspection.” This standard procedure is responsible for assisting companies to determine a quality percentage which is significant of the product batch and also configurate the threshold value if any for classifying the failed batch.

How ISO-2859-1 Standard Work?

The working principle of the ISO 2859-1 is inclusive of the statistical sampling procedure which has distinct sampling frequencies in all levels of inspection. The levels are categorised into three general levels (Level I, II, III) and four special inspection levels (S1, 2, 3, 4). The default level for a normal inspection is L II. These levels are integrated with an Acceptable Quality Limit (AQL) value, which signifies the brink-value of the product failures inspected against the total samples. The determined threshold value of the AQL is used to discard the complete batch which is being tested.

The L III frequency is known to be implemented only if there have been recent quality issues with the supplier. Interestingly, special inspection levels require a longer period of time of inspection per unit and after inspection of the sample product it has to be destroyed.
